Kauai has some of the most beautiful camping spots in all the Hawaiian Islands. Permits are required for all designated camping areas. Some camping areas are maintained by the County of Kauai and some by the State of Hawaii.

Country of Kauai Campgrounds:

  • Haena Park    (closed every Monday from 10 am to 12 noon on Tuesday for maintenance)
  • Hanalei Blackpot Park    (Open Friday & Saturday only, closed Sunday thru Thursday)
  • Anini Beach Park    (closed every Tuesday from 10 am to 12 noon on Wednesday for maintenance)
  • Anahola Beach Park    (closed every Thursday from 10 am to 12 noon on Friday for maintenance)
  • Lydgate Park Camp Ground  (closed every Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 am to 12 noon Thursday for maintenance)
  • Hanamaulu Beach Park    (Open Thursday, Friday & Saturdays only & certain school holidays, closed Sunday thru Wednesday)
  • Salt Pond Park    (closed every Tuesday from 10 am to 12 noon Wednesday for maintenance)
  • Lucy Wright Park    (closed every Monday from 10 am to 12 noon Tuesday for maintenance)
